he is spoiled rotten, does anyone out their have a wild animal as a pet.

Answers:

Unless you have a license to keep and rehabilitate wildlife.it is illegal to keep a raven. The Fish and Wildlife Authority can and will remove him from your care..so( Shhhhhhhhhhhh!)

As far as his diet, ravens, their diet they are ominvoires/scavengers so they will eat just about anything that they can find in the wild..insects, berries, small reptiles, road kill, and McDonald's french fries. So, they will eat and relish almost anything that you offer them.not everything is healthy for them though.

If you want to have this facinating wild pet raven with you a long time.feed him a healthy diet such as:

Science Diet Dog food (kibbles)

Mice

Hard-boiled egg with shell on unsalted, raw nuts of all kinds

Insects

Veggie chunks

Veggie tidbits like frozen corn kernels (corvids love this!)

Fruit chunks, berries, raisins

Cooked sweet potato - great for Vitamin A

Colored cat food kibbles

Peanuts (human grade, unsalted and raw)

Discourage the cookies, chips, Twinkies.. and all things fast food.including the McDonald's fries!:)

If it is bad for you..consider it unhealthy for your Corvid.

Also, don't advertise the fact that you are harboring an illegal raven 'cause someone will likely report you and you'd lose your bird.

I wish they were legal because I'd love to have a Corvid myself!

No but I used to work at a wild life park and cared for a whole flock of ravens. Their fave treat was the raw eggs I"d throw in there cage (shells n all). Seeing as they are scavengers, it's no surprisee he likes everything you eat. :) What a spoiled brat!
you need to get him from eat the things you eat, because he will get sick. start slow like one day give him his food and see what he will do.
It is illegal to keep a raven as a pet. And he should NOT be eating what you do as he will eventually get sick and die from it. Take him someplace like a wildlife haven. Again, what you are doing is illegal.
I don't have a wild animal as a pet, but my neighbor has a skunk (descented, of course). He is the friendliest little thing. Ravens are great pets, and although he eats a lot of what humans do, make sure that his intake and type of food is appropriate for a raven. Take care!
I've raised a lot of birds that have fallen from the nest during strong storms and rains. It is difficult, because your first instinct should be to return them to the nest, if it is gone (the nest) what do you do? When they are that young nurturing is important. I am sure there is a website for this and will look it up now, but if he can be free in your home with no restrictions he will never be able to return to the wild. Some birds are still with me, and some have adapted to the outdoors, (lots of training) Please like I will do, find a site about this. Some stay away for a while and come back once in a while for a short visit. Either way your decision to care or let loose is imperative for the birds existence.
