i own parrots, thinking of breeding anyone have any information for me on how to get started
african grey
Answers:I have 2 african greys I bought from a breeder. With African greys the breeding bit is easy but, unless you have loads of time and are prepared to get up during the night to feed the babies I wouldn't bother. If you decided to hand feed, food has to be at the right temperature a degree or two below and they cant digest food too high and it burns there crop. Then you've to find time to play wtih the babies cos who wants one thats not silly tame. In the end could you sell them, I couldn't thats why I bought mine. If this hasn't put you off contact a local breeder and ask them for advice, your local pet store may know of one.
Make sure you have at least one boy parrot and at least one girl parrot. Buy them some glossy magazines like "The best of PlayParrot" to look at. Don't eat eggs within their field of view.
The african grey prefers to be on top and they dont like any foreplay
If I were you though I wouldnt give up on girls, itll happen sooner or later even though you have a parrot
I believe it's against the law in some counties. Each to his own, I guess!
