You'll REALLY REALLY need to learn how to hand feed in case your birds won't do it, because it sounds easy, but it's complicated with avian anatomy, and doing it the slightest bit wrong will cause death or terrible injury (but the method to prevent it is easy. Don't be terrified! lol) You'll also need to learn basic first aid for common chick injuries and developmental disorders. I can give you a list of topics to start from, because the information itself is rather long, and would take too long to write out here:

lost toes

infected nail

dry skin (around nail can cause toe loss)

split breastbone

crop dysfunction (very important to read)

egg binding

splayed legs

slipped toes

brooder temperature/humidity (this will vary as chicks grow, and will be very important if your parents won't sit and feed. If they will, just keep them in a warm place and let them. They can do it better than we can.)

weaning techniques (many people choose to pull lovebird chicks when they're completely feathered out, and being fed once a day by their parents, to acclimate them to humans while they're still very young. Pulling any sooner than this is risky business)

OK. I wish you and your Lovies all the best. Here's a link to help find your local rescue: http://www.birdadoption.org/groups.htm.
