I have two parrots. a Quaker (also known as a Quaker parakeet) and a Senegal parrot. I can tell you that the Senegal parrot is an excellent pet. Not noisy at all, very quiet, and they can learn to talk, some better than others (nothing is a for sure) but they have a very quiet voice and not annoying at all. He gets along with everyone even though he likes me most and he is a real sweetheart. He likes to go on my head and hang upside down from my hair in front of my face. He is bigger than a budgie but much smaller than a cockatoo. I would definitely recommend a Senegal parrot.

canaries sing a beautiful song
Sounds like you don't need a bird.. finches and canaries have beautiful songs, but sometimes, like all birds, they just make "noise" ..maybe get a wildlife soundtrack and not a living creature that you are going to get bored with if you are just looking for a particular sound.
Get goldfish.

Guaranteed, no nasty musical surprises with goldfish, Mr. Cowell.

only one bird; the most beautiful singers of all birds; canneries. only male canneries sing and its hard to tell when there young. go reputed dealer. also they must be happy to sing ; if it doesn't sing it means the air in the coal mine your living in is bad; get out. i don't currently own one but my time i did i remember only beautiful song
i never met a bird that wasnt annoying i just have 2 deal wit it
If you find bird songs to be annoying then you should not own a bird. All birds have different songs and learn new ones all the time. It sounds to me like you should find a different type of pet that won't learn things on it's own that may offend you in any way.
I personally find both budgies (aka parakeets) and zebra finches to be very melodic and beautiful in sound. Since it seems like we have different tastes, I doubt that any advice on specific species will be perfect for you. I suggest you go to a pet store or a bird rescue and watch a few different species of birds for a while - maybe a half hour a day for a week or two - and see which have sounds and behavior that you like.
