Birds are easily stressed and she is probably still adapting to a new environment (your home). Unlike dogs & cats, that are predators, birds are prey animals and are constantly on guard in a strange place. If you have other pets in the household this, too, can add to the stress.

Most animals will not starve if there is food available. And there will probably be no real harm if she goes a couple of days without eating. Make sure her cage is up high (where she will feel safer), keep fresh food & water available, and leave her alone as much as possible for the first few days so she can adjust to her new home.

What kind of bird? You know the expression "eats like a bird"? She is probably eating and you just don't notice. You could talk to the person/store you got her from. Maybe she is used to different food than you are giving her. You also may want to tempt her with fresh fruit but make sure if she doesn't eat it that you remove it from the cage so it does not get rotten.

We really need to know the kind of bird and the age. is it a parrot? are you hand feeding? or is it eating seed? if it's seed bird have a tendency to drop the hulls back into the dish giving the illusion they aren't eating. be careful of this because the bowl can be "full" with no food in it! If it's hand feeding bring it back were you got it ASAP and have them help you.
