how can you train a macaw?like to stop bitting and get use to you

Macaws can be worse then a spoild 2 year old. Training takes time, but you first have to build a trust relationship with him. Without trust you will get no where. If his biting or snapping at you makes you react with fear then he is going to continue to do that. Once you have built a trust with him then he needs to learn who the boss is. He can not have the upper wing. It takes time and patience. One of the best ways to training your bird is though food. Use what ever his favorite is and offer it to him when he has done something correct that you have taught him.

When he is bad teach him about "time out". My Parrots have all learned when they hear the word "time out" they will look around to see who is getting into trouble. I will place the trouble maker in a cage for about 15 minutes and will not look nor speak to the bird.

Since your Pet bird can tell your moods by the tone of your voice, they want their owner to be pleased with them, but acting out and biting is a sign of them wanting to be the boss. And as long as they get away with it they will continue to bite and be bossey.

try playing with him and talk nice. to train him reward him everytime he does something you ask him ;) that is how i did it
