any one know where i can get a sun counre for less than 400.00 so far i've found 450.00 to 800.00.. in the U>S>

Have you done research on sun conures? Do you realize it is natural for them to scream at sunrise and sunset. Screaming fit to break glass and you can't train them out of it because it is instinctive?

Please read up on the little guys before commiting to one. They can be a handful.

Call a bird vet in your area. They will know of breeders and rescue groups in your area. Introduce yourself they are a wealth of knowledge, and educating the public is part of their jobs.

get from a breeder NOT a from a pet store.. I dont know if they have "Odd and Unusual" type auctions where you are.

even call your local SPCA because they occassionally get birds turned in by owners who no longer can keep them for whatever reason

I found mine at 12 weeks old for 250 and he was with in 20 miles of my home. Normal price in a pet store is going to be about 500 or 600 bucks. You need to start lookin in the breeder owned pet shops. Small stores. Call some of the vets in your area and ask around at the pet shops. You can do serches on Yahoo and look in the phone book. They are there you just need to take the time to find them.

I have a nanday conure I rescued from a pet store in Arkansa I paid $300.00 for him. He has papers telling he was a male. He was neglected. The owner got him out of this little cage with welder gloves on. We got him home and he (Tommy boy) has never bit the blood out of me.Now my husband & sons is differant. He also was missing a toe. I have had him for almost 9 years now. He can be loud and obnoxious but I wouldn't trade him for anything. I say you just have to look around find the bird that is best for you. Good Luck
