There's three things my cockatiels love to do: Eat, shred and play with bells!

I often combine the different things into a game that they can play while I'm at the computer. Food is their favorite thing to maul. Especially if it's bread like muffins, multi grain loaves and even pancakes! Sometimes I'll string a few small slices of bread on a shoe string. They go nuts squealing over the best parts and swinging on near by perches to get the choosiest bits :-) . I do the same thing with Fruit Loops and Cheerios. I wear it as a necklace and the birds have something to maul while I'm busy reading or doing email. It's messy, so you may want to keep something close to you to sweep or vacuum it up. I find that saves any moles and scabs I might have around my neck as they're too busy exploring the edible toy than preening my poor cuts. Another thing you could do is take those plastic bird toy links and make a necklace out of them. The birds love to check those out when they're not in the mood to stay on their play stand and they're glued to your shoulder like a huge piece of bird poop ^.^ .

I also take the husks off corn on the cob. I dry them for 2-3 days and braid them up. My tiels' play perch is beside the computer so I will sometimes hang up a toy that they can destroy while there. Every so often I'll poke and bob it and they come rushing over. They don't like sharing with me ^.^ .
