I am not sure what is going on here. how old is the chick? If it is an unweaned baby you will need to buy baby bird formula such as Kaytee Exact Baby Bird Formula. This is a powder that you mix with water and feed with a small spoon or feeding syringe. However, handrearing is not that simple, you really need someone experienced to help you. If the formula is too hot it will burn the baby's crop and kill it. If it is too cold it will sit in the crop too long, grow bacteria and kill the baby. If the formula is too thin it will pass through the baby too quickly and the bird won't get enough nutrition. If it is too thick it will sit in the crop too long and make the baby sick. If you don't know any experienced handfeeders you might try calling a vet or a pet store that has experience with this.
