whats the best kind of talking parrots to buy as pets
Larger parrots also need a lot of time and attention. My cockatiel needs as much attention as a dog, and bigger ones yet are like perpetual human infants.
And larger parrots have extremely long lifespans. My first cockatiel lived to age 16, and 30 is not unheard of. Most parrots live at least 30-50 years. Cockatoos can live up to 100 years. What if you get bored of your bird in five years? Will you still want your parrot when you get married and have kids? Who will take care of your parrot when you pass away from old age?
How much money do you have to spend?
AFRICAN GREY are the best but please do your homework on them before you buy they require proper diets lots of love. I'm a proud parent of 2 and i love my birds to pieces
First off this is always a huge topic asked on here, and I'm going to answer the same way I do everyone else because I think it needs to be said.
If you are looking for a bird just because it "talks" you don't need a bird. One thing that some people don't know is that even if you get an African Grey, Macaw, whatever, there is absolutely NO guarantee that the bird will ever talk. I have a friend that has a Grey who is 13 years old, and he whistles, barks, makes funny noises etc, but has never uttered a human word not once! It's not to say that his owner hasn't tried, quite the contrary, its that the bird doesn't have the desire to "speak human".
