does these bird fly for a long period of time?
Answers:short and broad winged birds tend to be gliders and do a lot of soaring, if you look closely at a silhouette of an eagle and a sparrow you will see they are a bit different. sparrows hop and jump about in trees and bushes picking up insects. Eagles glide for long periods of time at sometimes quite high altitudes. they have different shaped winds for different jobs.
They use them to stay up in the air soaring so they can watch the ground for food. They hunt from the air and need to be able to suspend themselves so they can look really good for their food.
well i think its because they SOAR in the sky looking for food and have 2 do it from high up and for long periods of time. they are birds of prey! they depend on the wind current so they are able 2 soar.
Because of their hunting strategy.
So they can carry their prey off.
So they can lift their big bodies up into the air! It helps with soaring too.
