why do people talk to their pets and plants
Because their pets are family and the plant thrive off of the carbon dioxide we give to the when we talk. In our case they are addicted to nicotine and will die if they dont get their fix.

I can see why people talk to their pets, but I can't see why people would want to talk to their plants..
Mostly because they are lonely and have no one to talk too. The same reason people answer questions on yahoo,it make you feel like your not totally alone.
ain't it amazing what strong drink can do! pets don't understand human language only differences in voice variations. plants are deaf Ive told mine to grow many times but they still die
It's been proven that if you talk to your plants they will grow faster, so it's best to keep plants in a living room, where everyone talks a lot.

Because in a way it gives us something to do and it makes us feel like we are talking to someone when we don't want to talk to other people. I used to love telling my bird stuff because i knew he'd never repeat it to anyone or use it against me.

Because as time goes on, people begin to look at their pets almost as "human" parts of the family. When you see someone kiss their pets, you sometimes might think of it as gross, but when you go home and kiss your own pets you think nothing of it. It's because they think of their own pets as part of the family and don't see anything unusual about it.
Because you can tell your plants and your pets things that you could NEVER tell another person. Also because it's good for them, and a sign of affection from you.
