why do sparrows hop
Sparrows are energetic and flightly birds
They like finches and canaries have a flicker reflex, meaning if somehting scares them, even slightly upsets them they take no chances and instantly bolt.
sparrows do walk, I had a hand fed pet sparrow that both hopped and walked. and I have a semi-tame wild sparrow that walks up to me.
