~~~i dont know wat the hell you all are talking about i see them in NYC all the time espically when i got eh the mall next to teh bus terminal. i dont see them on the ground just in teh nest when i walk bu i wish i know how to send the picture of them on this thing.~~~

immature pigeons, called squabs, can be seen anywhere pigeons are.

look for the slightly smaller bodies and fluffier feathers.

also, their colors and patterns are less defined than adult birds.

they usually don't leave the nest until they can fly.

pigeons grow very fast so when they leave the nest the are already big.

You see baby pigeons and seagulls all the time.it is just that by the time they leave their nest they look similar to the adults. Seagulls though are a different color than the adults when they are young. Have'nt you ever seen those kind of mottled brown seagulls.those are the babies or juviniles.

In NYC you don't see the babies on the street, but a friend of mine thought that sparrows were baby pigeons, she was about 24 at the time LOL.

We have pigeons living in our barn and man they are ugly babies!! They grow very quickly and apart from the odd bit of fluff and being ever so slightly smaller they look just like the adults when they leave the nest so unless you find the nest you wont find the babies.
