Since I've been back, he's got low energy and seems to need to be CLOSE - on my lap or cuddled close. He does go out and he lost his breakaway collar. I feel like something happened. The vet says he's okay. Has this happened to anyone else?
Answers:he probably thought you had abandoned him. just give him love and cuddles right now to reassure him that you are back and that everything is fine. it might take a few days or even a week but he will be back to his usual self in no time
Perhaps he got into a fight or got chased by a predator and is seeking you to feel safe. Or he could have just missed you very much! Try to keep him inside for awhile.
He missed you and probably thought you left for good. My 2 cats stay close to me after staying away for just 1 night. Just love him and be happy in the knowledge that he loves you back.
