Can one cat that just give birth feed another cats kittens that were just born safely
we have 2 cats and one gave birth 2 weeks ago and just 15 mins ago the other gave birth and the first cat went over and started feeding them cuz their mother was too scared. is it ok to let her do this or will it make the real mom angry? the older babies were already fed so they werent effected. also is it even safe for the 2 sets to be in the same room? someone please help. thank you.
Answers:I think that's okay... in fact I'm inclined to think it's probably a good thing that another cat is looking out for the babies since their mother doesn't really know how to. Still, if you see any signs of agression, you should separate the aggressor and consult a vet just to be sure... just so no one loses an eye or anything!
I know you've probably heard this one, but I hope you're planning to do some "fixing" after these cats recover from childbirth!
Get your animals fixed. No one needs two litters of kittens.
It will be ok as long as when the fright the real mom has wares of she stops doing it
as long as the 2 females get along. I've had it happen
it is fine, but the other scared cat may abandon the kittens now. I have seen some group sharing of kittens work out, and others where one mom raised them all. I also saw a case where the mom raised the other kittens and abandoned her own.
