Answers:If you have a spare room in your home - that's your best bet. Get her into that room with litter, food, water and toys. Keep the door closed and let your new kitty and your dog meet through the crack at the bottom of the door. They will be able to smell each other that way and get used to each other. You may need to do this for up to two weeks. Just because she is 2 doesn't mean this can't work. I brought in 2 adult cats into my home with 4 dogs! They all co-exist and I can even catch them playing sometimes. Yes, it's easier to introduce a kitten (I've done that too and he actually thinks he is a dog, I swear!) but you can definitely properly introduce an adult cat into a house with a dog. It may work out, it may not - but you need to try! Best of luck:)
leave her alone and let her adjust to her new surroundings. keep the dog away till she is more comfortable. make sure she has access to a clean litter box, fresh water, and food.
If the cats two years old..its prolly not gonna happen...when cats are older they do not like dogs at all..now if a baby kitten grows up round a dog from a baby.then ya.they will get along..almost impossible now tho...but good luck.
I have 4 cats and 2 dogs, they all got use to each other. You just have to ignore them and they'll come around.
I had the same problem when I got a dog, the cat disapeared from the house for a number of days, but then she got used to having the dog around. She will adjust eventually, using food is generally a good way to entice her out of her hiding place.
Let them work it out on their own there is nothing you can do really to force them to like each other or to get over their fears and come out. Eventually the cat will come out if only because it is hungry.
new cats will always be shy! especially if there's other animals in the house! i'd suggest exposing them to each other for short amounts of time, gradually increasing over a few weeks and i'm sure you will find that they will soon get used to each other! but don't let the dog be boisterous with your kitten or they will never get along! hope this helps
if you can you should put the dog outside for a while and let the cat roam the house so she can check it out. Get the cat and hold her gently while letting the dog check her out but shoo the dog away if there is aggression. She is still getting used to the new place give her a couple of weeks to try to adjust.
you may not need this answer anymore, but whenever you bring a cat into a home with another pet, you isolate the cat for several days to weeks. this way the animals can start to get used to each other from smelling each other through the door.
