My little kitten wont stop bugging my older cat What should I doAll advice2007-11-25 12:23:44

I dont want to give my kitten away . But he always want to play with my older cat . I had her since I was 8 years old. My little kitten always chaeses my older cat's tail while she's eating and when my older cat is sleeping on the couch , he jumps up and try to sleep with her. How can I get my older cat to like him? Or how to stop my little kitten to stop bugging her? I want them to at least get along.Every time my older cat just hisses at him and swrats him. I'm afriad she'll hurt him. Please help and dont be rude. And why does my kitten want to play my older cat?

I've got 6 cats. I got my first one who was full grown, introduced 4 little kittens. They were at each others throats for almost a month. Now they all love each other. The've been together for about six months now. But it took a long time I thought they were gonna kill each other. The thing I had to do was let them duke it out. They gotta deal with their own issues and it's best not to interfere they will do it on their own. Then a few weeks ago I brought home a new kitten, one I found under my actually and it only took about a day for them to get used to it. But they weren't only kitties lol. Your cats should get used to each other. It may take a while but you gotta be patient. The kitten will grow up and grow out of being so rambunctious around the older cat. If they aren't killing each other then don't worry too much. It will be ok. I thought I was gonna have to get rid of my older cat instead of my 4 kittens before, but I just let it go a little longer and a little longer cuz I really didn't want to get rid of the cat and it worked its self out. Good luck!

maybe just seperate them. Put one of those " baby gates" on your stairs and let one cat roam the basement and the other roam the upstairs
Maybe you should get another kitten his age to play with him. Good Luck with your cute little Kitty's!
Your older cats will put the kitten in his place without doing serious damage. Keep and eye on them and the kitten will settle down as he gets alittle older, he's being a kitten and like all kittens they do play. Don't worry they will work it out. Good Luck and Regards KG
kittens are babies, and therefore very playful and mischevous. the older kitty is a little miffed that someone has invaded his territory. the only thing that will happen is that the little one will learn to keep his distance for a while, and the older one will warm up. there is nothing you can do to force this, but, it will happen. the little one thinks it great fun to annoy the older one. as the little one gets a little older, he will calm down. i have had cats all of my life and introducing a new one always takes time. do not give away the baby, make sure the older one knows you still love him too..good luck
It is ill-advised to attempt to make these two get along. If it is not happening, it would be the same as putting you in an unhealthy working environment and telling you to just deal with it. The stress on your older cat could produce health problems. THe younger could get seriously injured. So your options are limited. Either get rid of one of the two since getting another is not an option, or separate the two.
