My little kitty was sprayed with a chemical, What Can I do2007-11-25 12:23:44

Someone sprayed my kitten with some kind of chemical, it smells like Raid, altho she claims it was flea stuff. He has stayed alive all night, I have recently been dropping water down his throat and he does swallow but he is unconscious for the most part. He is breathing staedily. When he does wake up for just a minute he has lost motor skills and can barely drag himself around. He seems to be breathing normally with a good heart rythmn, just can't wake up. Can anyone help me, I am on disability and it's cash up front here in this town at the vet, I have nowhere to take him.

i'd call an animal hospital and ask them exactly what you should do. i would give the cat though, if you can get some pet shampoo from the supermarket or pet store. you might even be able to get some advice from the pet store.

tell the person that you will sue them for the medical costs if they won't pay for it if you do have to take it to the vet.

Also you could report them for animal cruelty.

Was it sprayed on him or down his throat?

If it was sprayed on him, give him a bath right now!

If it was sprayed down his throat, i'm sorry there's nothing you can do.

There may be a cure for the toxin, but unless you can identify exactly what he was sprayed with, chances are slim.
