Our older Siamese cat is crazy and impulsive2007-11-25 12:24:59

She meows incessantly to go outside all day. This has gone on for months. I take her out for a few minutes and when I return her, she tries to bite off a piece of me. I have to squirt her with water to get her to calm down. I tried giving her catnip against my wife's wishes and she went even more nuts. What about Feliway?

Answers:

Siamese are very vocal and can be tempermental cats.

If she is spayed that should not be an issue.

Feliway works very well in some households. I know people who have used it.

I have a Siamese and have ahd them for about the last 10 years.

Mine gets very wild weh ngiven cat nip and she will sometimes bite at your hands if you are playing with her after having cat nip.

When we give her nip we are careful not to aggrevate her much as she gets mean. But it makes her happy so she is given nip once a week or so.

She is most likley just very highly stimulated after being outside. Mine does that also. I let her alone and let her calm down some after being out. Mine only goes out on a leash.

You may want to bring her in and let her have some time to calm down by herself in one room to herself. That way she can unwind from all the stimuli outside.

Good Luck.

Shoot it .
may be she wants a mate.
Some animals just naturally need to be kept outside because it is where they are happiest. Set up a place for her outside and see how she does.
Is your cat spayed? Sounds like she may be in heat and thus has the urge to 'wander' and find a mate so that she can reproduce.
