Ok i have a nest box that looks like the second one down on the link http://www.nativeamerica.com/boxes.html.. but the hole is larger and it isnt hollow, they gave it to me when i bought the birds is this a good nest box ,it isnt hollow but i've felt the wood and it is very soft it feels like sponge ,so they wont have trouble picking at it they have already started poking a deeper hole in it, should i be expecting eggs soon, i've seen the male balance on the female but i havnt seen any eggs.when should i expect the eggs?and also will my cat eat the baby birds , she is already used to the adult ones but i dont know how she will react to more birds in the house

I couldn't see the nest box, either (from the link).

You can buy a variety of inexpensive nest boxes at Petco or Petsmart . why not check there?

I think you will find more parakeet help in the bird section than the cat section (though we have cats and parakeets!)

I recommend the book Parakeets for Dummies . it has helped us tremendously.

Your link doesn't work.

Parakeets need a ready made box - an open box. They don't know how to make one.

You shouldn't be watching for the eggs. Provide the birds with an appropriate box and let them do the rest.

As long as you aren't letting the birds roam the house loose, the baby birds will be safe from your cat. You do have the birds in a cage, right? Or do you keep your cat in the same cage?

i thought this was the cat section
