Pellets to feed your cat, that reduce my allergies
A few years ago, I had 3 cats that I became allergic to. Their vet suggested I try putting this certain kind of pellets in with their food, to see if it helped reduce their dander production. It worked, and now I can't remember what the pellets were. Allegra, Claritin, Alavert, and Zyrtec haven't worked for me in the past. Any suggestions? Do you know what the pellets could be?
Answers:I don't know but the Omega 3 fatty acids found in fish oil and flaxseed oil are known to improve a cats coat and flaky skin. You could try getting some gel caps of Flaxseed oil and squeezing them over your cats food (works well in wet food) and see if that improves the dander. If you have severe allergies, howeve,r you really should consider getting immunotherapy treatments (i.e. allergy shots). They really, really work at building your own immunity to the allergens. My cousin's husband did this and now he no longer needs the shots because he built up his own immunity. It's definitely something worth looking into. Good luck.
