People are allergic to me2007-11-25 12:25:01

I just started my junior year of high school and whenever someone sits next to me in class, they start sneezing or sniffling. I know it's probably because I have 3 cats and the dander from them is on my clothes even though I always wash them. This has made me very self conscious to sit next to other people because I feel very bad that I'm making them sneeze/sniffle. It is not all people, but 1/2 of the people who sit next to me end up sneezing.

Is there anything I can do?

You know what, as an allergy sufferer myself and a pet owner, I can tell you allergies arent always caused by pets, the only time I am ever annoyed is when I am sneezing because someone is wearing stinky perfume. other than that I dont get annoyed by something that cant be helped. If I were you I wouldnt worry too much about what people think if they have allergies and complain about it they might as well shut up because they are going to have to get used to it sometime.. when you have allergies everything makes you sneeze, pet dander on someones clothes is nothing compared to really scented fabric softeners, perfume, cologne and smelly laundry detergent are the worst people carried allergens. thats when I get annoyed I cant stand people who use alot of that stuff, I have never noticed if people with pets make me sneeze because of the dander on thier clothes, its not even noticeable and there is no way you can tell where its coming from. Only really strong perfume smells are an annoyance to allergy sufferers and only then can you pinpoint where its coming from because of the smell. I just avoid people who wear alot of perfume but I dont get mad about it only annoyed.

I highly doubt I'd suspect someone in the room of making me sneeze. Even if I DID, I'd think it was a perfume.maybe I'd hit on cat hair..but even if I did, I wouldn't know WHO it was coming from.
