My father is being an a-hole. He is making me get rid of my kitten max. He said if the kittens not gone then the computer is.. I have no one to give the kitten to, and I refuse to stick him in a shelter, what do I do, he does have the love and compassion for animals like me..

See, the cat had worms, I got rid of them, I just started getting him to eat, well he had an accident and pooped ontop of the stove, hes a stray and hes not fully potty trained yet. And my dad isnt making me get rid of my other kittens its just Max, its not fair. What do I do?? I live in roanoke VA if anyone from around here looks at this.

Please make sure that you do not give your kitten away. At the very least ask for a small adoption fee and then have the kitten neutered with it. This will prevent anyone from taking the kitten simply because its free and then dump it on the street in six months. To be honest your kitten will have a chance to get another home at a shelter. Our local Humane Society has a no kill policy for adoptable animals. In the mean time try crating the kitten to help him with potty training. This will keep him safe (he should not be on the stove anyway) and keep him out of you dads hair too. Try to reason with your dad and tell him you will keep the kitten confined if he just gives you a little time to work with him. Remember that animals that are offered for FREE are usually accepted by people who pretend to really want a family pet only to have them end up in a research facility, used as bait for fighting dogs, or neglected..Your little kitten would be better off going to a shelter than to end up in that fate.

Tell him about it. Just say, "Dad I love this kitten please don't make me give him/her up. I bet you had a pet once that you loved."

Sounds like you really don't have a choice. When you get your own house you can have as many cats as you want. Then you can be known as "That crazy lady with all the cats" We have one in our neighborhood. Maybe you can replace her.

if it's either the kitten or the computer than give up the computer!! if you truly loved Max like you say you do than you wouldn't be trying to get rid of him just to save your precious little computer!! get rid of the computer instead!! the kittens WAY more important in my opinion!!

I live in Georgia. Don't know if you have anything like this in Roanoke, but we have a Tell-N-Sell. It's a weekly publication of ads, for sale to consumers for 79 cents. For the advertiser, it's free. Even the phone call to place the ad is free. If you have something of that nature available, place an ad for a good home for your kitten.

Put an ad in the newspaper, or post one on store bullitin boards. Someone will want him. make sure that he is neutered, first. Then ask a price. Don't just give him away, you won't know what their intentions are.

Can you afford to take the kitten to a vet to get rid of the worms? If not I think I would take him to an animal shelter and tell them you want to keep the cat but cant afford to treat him for worms. See what they tell you. There has to be some way for you to keep him. You also have to be careful because that kitten can give the other cats worms. Best of luck to you.

you should not call your father a-hole, you are seventeen with a 3 year old child, the cat might still have worms, did you go to the vet or use over the counter stuff, it might be best to find it a home

I feel bad for you and Max. Maybe you can find a temporary home for him.Like one of your friends could take him. And I don't thtink that it's right that your dad is making oyu get rid of the poor kitten because it's not potty trianed yet!! After all taht Max has been through and as soon as he starts to get better u have to give him away. I hope that u can find some other way or u can keep thim. Good luck
