My kitten keeps winking continuously.

I took him the vet today and the vet said that there is nothing wrong with him ( I thought his eye was inflammed)

What could it be?

Answers:

Cats will often wink when you make direct eye contact. I have been told this is due to recognition of a leader, and respect. If you do the same, rather than stare it is a sign of equality and recognition as an equal.

If there's any doubt in your mind that there's a problem with your kitty, go to a different vet.

Is there any discharge from the kittens eyes? That's a primary symptom of an eye problem. Does the kitty rub his eyes with his paws or rub his face on the carpet, pillow, etc.? Again, go to another vet if you think he needs to. You're a good mama to your kitty. Keep up the good work!

My kitten winks all the time too. I just wink back. Either that or your kitten has a twitch and you need to get it to another vet (qualified preferably)

what color is your cat ? white ?-- did you know that 90% of white cats are blind in 1 eye or both

Get a second opinion. My vet is a friend of the family; BOTH of them. Though there is probably nothing wrong. Cats are VERY expressive with their face and ears. If he slowly blinks both eyes, it means I love you.

Sounds like he's uncomfortable, he might have dry eyes where the tear ducts are too dry ? this happens sometimes !, go see a different vet if possible for a second opinion.

I once had an orange and white cat who would wink at me, but only when I winked at him! It's probably allergies though with what you are discribing.

It may have nerve damage in which case there's nothing you can do and if it doesn't seem like it's bothering the cat stop worrying.
