Scratching kitty
My cat from time to time will scratch the back of her neck.
She scratches and scratches until there's no hair.
Sometimes she even scratches until there's an open sore.
It's not hot spots. I've had her checked out, and they just give me stuff to put on it that doesn't seem to do anything.
Has this ever happend to your cat? What is it? Why does she do it?
Please help me and my poor little kitty.

Answers:If its not fleas or parasites, it's more than likely an allergy.
Is your cat an indoor cat only? If so, you have more control over trying to relsolve this problem. First, think about any chemicals you might use in your home. Air freshener, carpet freshener, laundry soap or laundry fabric softener. Basically things your cat would be exposed to on a constant basis. Even cheap kitty litter! Also, try washing washing your cat. Yes she will hate this and be mad at you.
If that does not work out, at least take a damp cloth and rub her down really good. Keep her paws as clean as you can so she won't get a secondary infection from scratching.
Don't forget that some of the "cheaper store brand cat foods" are very high in dyes and can cause a bad reaction too.
I have had very good luck with no adverse "reactions" from "dry 9 lives cat food.
Anyway, start eleminating different things you use in your home to find out what's causing her skin reaction.
