Shedding Cat
If my cat gets a lion cut will it help reduce the amount of cat hair on everything? I brush her, but there is still hair everywhere! She is healthy, just very furry!
Do any cat experts know if haircuts like that effect them emotionally? My friend has a Persian and had a lion cut done on her, and it somehow seemed like the cat was embarrassed. ??
Answers:The negative thing about cutting a cat's fur is that cats have whiskers all over their bodies which, like the facial whiskers, help them to balance and to judge depth perception (for jumping). If you cut the fur too much, the cat will not be able to balance properly and will feel insecure. I would say the best bet is to keep brushing the cat (do it while you're watching TV for an hour a day) and invest in a good pet-friendly vacuum like the Dyson Animal model. As winter approaches, the cat will not shed so much because it will be forming a thicker coat to keep warm in the wintertime. Spring and summer are the only times of year when shedding is a huge problem!
My previous cat got a lion cat twice a year, she loved it. But, cats like people are all different and have their own likes and dislikes. Good Luck

Yes cats can get embarred like humans, your cat is shedding its coat getting ready for the next season. My cats are doing the same thing and there is no way that I would cut their coats.
