Should I be worried my son plays at a friends house and they have2007-11-25 12:25:49

a good 50 stray cats that hang around their house, I'm worried about fleas or my son bringing something home that my cats will catch and get sick. My cats are indoors.

Huh? Fifty stray cats hanging around one house? Sounds like they are being fed by someone in the house. Anyway, if your son does not come in contact with them and they are outdoors, then all should be well. If however,t he cats are INDOORS, then your son COULD pick up fleas and thus transfer them to your cats. I think your humane society needs a call on this one.

yeah that isnt good. fleas arent usually attracted to humans as in to stay on them like they do cats..so i wouldnt be to worried but im sure they have illnesses that ur son could get. thats unsanitary. ask if the friend wants 2 come 2 ur house. that might solve some problems

Get your kitties some advantage and let him have fun. So long as the friends cats are fed and taken care of HE should be fine. HOWEVER, it is MOST LIKELY illegal to have that many cats, and I can't imagine the cats are getting good care. I would ANONOMYSLY call the animal control.

Yes, you should be very worried. What kind of people have 50 stray cats living around them, especially if they can't take care of them, i.e. flea treatments. You child could get sick, you cats could get sick, you could get sick. But then again, I am a dog person.

you should have precautions there is a cream on the market that you rub on your skin that kill the fleas when they touch you i am not sure what it is called but the animal control uses it. For your cats on the other hand use advantage or other pet flea gels to get rid of the infestation it is hard to imagine 50 strays around one house.
