Should we give away our kitten

Should we give away our kitten2007-11-25 12:25:52

We are looking for an apartment and no one will rent to us because we have a kitten (I think that is evil, but anyway) so now we are faced with the question of getting rid of our pet. My husband really loves the cat and says we keep looking for a place that will welcome him. We have three weeks left to find a place. What would you do?

GO TO CRAIGSLIST.COM IN YOUR AREA AND USE PET FRIENDLY AS ONE OF THE KEYWORDS TO SEARCH.

I'd get rid of the kitten. Landlords don't like kittens because their urin has a nasty smell to it.

Save the hassle and give it to a kitten relocation adoption agency placy thingy..

Keep looking. You have time. There HAS to be a place that will rent to you.
if you and your husband truly love him then find a place that will let you rent with pets if not please find him a loving home
dont give kitten away, find an apartment that allows it, we all love kittens!!
well.i would say get rid of the kitten.but since ur husband loves it.he prolly wont give it up so if ur husband is that attached to it.then i guess ur gonna have to find a new place and keep looking.
I would keep looking for an apartment. If all fails then maybe a friend or family member can take the little tyke and let it stay with them. I hope it all works in your favor! Good luck!
What area are you looking in? I have lived in a million apartments and all of them accepted my cats. Please keep looking around. You don't want to give away a member of the family unless you have a nice family to take him in.
That is a terrible dilemma I think that it has to be a decision between you and your husband sometimes we have difficult choices to make in life I wish you all the best. Maybe a friend might take the kitty and you could visit or slip it into your flat after you move in ??
dont give the kitten away.. you will feel sorry at the end. Keep on looking for a place that accepts kittens, i find it hard that you cant find a place that will accept them I often find it hard with large dogs but most apts accept cats =/ GL
I'd keep looking! there's NO way that some stupid landlord is going to make me part with my baby! there is bound to be other apartment complexes that allow cats and dogs!! Keep Looking, you have plenty of time! Don't give him away! you'll truly regret if you do!! =^-^=
Both the Marin Co. Humane Society and the San Francisco SPCA where I volunteered had list of apartments and housing rentals where pets were accepted.
