Sick Cat
It's been 3 days, and she seems much better but my boyfriend and I have both to take her to the vet.
We are very low on $$, how much does an appointment cost? Just to have her looked at?
Answers:most vets in my area charge $35 for an office visit Has the cat been to a vet before, most allow their customers to pay later. If she hasn't been to a vet she should, she needs her shots and to spayed along with a check up. Check with your local SPCA or shelter, some have low cost medical.
It usually takes 20-40 dollars. Depends. Good luck on your cat!!
IT IS EXPENSIVE .
PUT IF YOU LOVE YOUR CAT YOU WILL TAKE IT TO THE VET
Perhaps you could contact your local Humane Society or shelter for low cost vet recommendations.
An office visit here for me is $44. At the very least you can get some idea of what might be wrong with your cat. To do a real diagnosis the vet will probably have to do a blood panel ($100 here). That is one of the best diagnostic tool they have for internal problems. Your cat might need a shot of antibiotic ($30) or a steroid ($30).
So it will all depend on what the vet suspects might be going on with the cat. It can all add up to $175-200 in a short time.
At least take the cat in and get an opinion about what might be going on and you will be given an estimate. Then you can probably make payment arrangements to cover the cost. If you sense your cat is ill then she most likely is very ill as cats hide their illness very well and it's bad enough for her that she can't hide it any more.
sorry, but you are in absolutly no position to be owning a cat or any other pet for that matter if you are watching your pennies that much!
