Spraying cat
My cat sprays all over the place. He is about 1 year old and fixed. First question is how do I get rid of the stains on the walls, and second question is how do i train him to stop?
Answers:Merrik pretty much covered everything. I just want too elaborate on a couple of things about boy kitty buddy behavior.
First: Dun freak! He is most likely not sick. He's just a boy kitty buddy. It is part of their make up too behave like this. It's a big down side but their is some hope.
As stated before he's just marking his turf. He is essentially labling what is his. And in his mind that is infact everything he doesn't have too fight another cat for. The spraying . well. it's a tag. He is telling the rest of the cat world who he is and how fit he is. Cat's have an odd view of the world due too their evolution. They (were) are a common pray item for a lot of other larger preditor species where kanids aren't. That shapes their out look in that every moving thing is either food, cat, or not-cat.

So. don't be offended by kitty buddy's behavior. The message he is leaving every where he goes isn't intended for you.
On too the "what do I DO about this" part of the question. If he's alloud access too the out doors just put him out when ever his backing alarm sounds. If he's strutting about with his tail high in the air and acting like he's about tag out your place scoop him up and chuck him out doors. Let him mark that space. This is the arrangement I have with one of my cat's works pretty well. *shrugs*
