Stray cat hurt HELP
A sweet stray has adopted our family, it's been living on our pourch for almost three weeks, which is fine, it is warm and dry and I even got it a padded kitty hutch.
But we suspect it my have been the target of a bee-bee gun shot. Only proplem is we can't quite afford a vet, any other ideas would be really helpfull and most welcomed.
Answers:I am so glad to see that you are caring for this cat. Like someone else said the world needs more people that respect our animals. It is our responsibility to care for them. I have been in your situation before. In my case I was able to take the cat to the vet and drop about $150 and get everything done to bring him inside. It was a bit expensive, but he is a wonderful cat. I have 4 now and a Chihuahua. Try to call around and locate a vet that may help you and take payments. Tell them your dilemma, some will understand. If you take it to the Humane Society the cat may not have a chance. At least around here we call it the Inhumane Society. They will kill anything, even the pregnant ones. Be persistent. Call every vet in your area. Call all the animal organizations that you have in your area. Someone will care enough to work with you on the cost. It's tedious, but once you see that little baby laying on your bed sleeping it all pays off. Good Luck! Thanks for being a compassionate person.
Humane Society
SPCA has a Vet care program for pet owners who can not afford it on there own. Or you could take him to a no kill shelter, they'll fix em up before adopting him out. Good Luck
IF you can handle the cat, check it out for any sores.if you find a tender lump, the cat has something under its skin.if not, probably nothing to worry about. IF you cannot handle the cat, leave it alone and let nature take its course. Usually, cats are well equipped to handle small infections..large ones are another story, but you could tell if the cat were really sick. Cats are delicate, health-wise, in some areas, but not in others..small infections or a BB under its skin will probably do no long range harm. Good luck
The best thing to do is watch the cat for any other severe problems. If any problems do arise there are some facilities that will do examinations for free. Thanks for being such a caring person. We need more like you in the world.
Call the local animal shelter, you may have to surrender to cat to them but if you can't afford proper care that is the best thing for the cat.
