What brand of cat food do you feed your cat Do you use dry or wet2007-11-25 12:26:36

I have 3 cats and I want to feed them the best cat food possible so that they will stay healthy and live a long life. Any ideas as to what is the best brand I should feed my cats. Thank-you for your suggestions.

When looking at buying food, buy food with no by-products in it and with little or no grains in it. Feed a bit of dry and a bit of wet, following the directions on the labels. If you feed a high-quality diet found in pet stores, it is supposed to keep the urine at a good pH level, so kitty won't get crystals. Don't buy grocery store cat food, it is filled with by-products and grain fillers.

Innova EVO is supposed to be really good. Nutro's Natural Choice is supposed to be better than supermarket brands because it has no by-products, but it contains corn, so it's not the best you can buy.

I have done so much research on this subject since adopting my cat in August. It is so confusing. Some say an only canned food diet is bad for teeth, some say dry food will help with their teeth, others say it won't. Others say an only canned diet is best. So confusing, so I feed a bit of both. I've read that vets have little or no training in cat nutrition, and what they do learn is sponsered by food providers that use by-products and cheap grain fillers.

I have a male cat that is sick with urianary crystals, very painful to pee, the vet told me to give him soft food , but he wont eat it, and I was worried about him gaining weight, so I bought Puriana one urinary tract health and water it down so he gets a lot of water in his diet. If I knew then what I know now, I would have started that a lot earlier instead of waiting until hes sick. Good Luck.

I have two cats, one is a lazy indoor cat and the other is a roamer. I feed the indoor cat Pro Plan indoor, it helps her not be quite so chubby. I feed my roamer Pro Plan adult mixed with Pro Plan kitten to keep some weight on him. He is so skinny and in the winter I want him to have some meat on him to help keep him warm.
