What do you do if your cat is using #1 on the carpet,and there going to vet this week
She is 5 yrs. old. What do you DO! She's locked in the bathroom beacause of it.
Answers:If you use scoopable litter, clean the box the night before she goes to the vet. Then, before you go to the vet, scoop out some litter that has urine in it and put it in a sealed baggie to take to the vet. The vet can do an analysis on it to see if there is blood in the urine or high white cells etc. Trust me.much easier to get the urine sample this way than have the vet get it with a needle. (your cat will love you more)
Your carpet.while at the vet ask if they have a solution to take the urine out of the carpet. Amonia will NOT do it. Cats have excellent noses that even when we cant smell something, they can and they will keep on urinating in that spot. The stuff at the vet is better than pet store stuff and in most cases will not damage your carpet.
Good for you on taking kitty to the vet for this. You care for your cat and that is very commendable.
Sew up her cooch
Apply a few drops of household ammonia in the litter of her litter box. She'll start peeing there instead.

sounds like there might be an infection, better get it to the vet sooner.
Get a urine sample to the vet for a urinalysis. She could very well have one of several issues happening and doesn't mean to be bad. It could be a UTI, crystals, kidney dz.
In the meantime, you MUST get the smell off the carpet so she doesn't remark that area. Cat urine is so hard to eliminate, I wish you luck. I have a method / recipe, although I myself have not tried it, I got this info from someone else. If you would like it, email me.
Put stuff that smells like fish in there. when she uses it give a treat.
That is the best place for her right now. The vet will probably find that she has a urinary tract infection and you will get medication for that problem.
Don't be unkind to her. It is painful for her to urinate and she needs your forebearance until she is treated and the irritation is cleared up.
