All calico cats are female. My friend once had a calico that was male. It was retarded and would walk into walls and stuff. He didn't live too long. It was really a shame. Other than that they are really beautiful, especially torties.

My Mom has a calico. About all I know is theat all true calicos are female. Patches is a great cat though.

There is the regular calico, black and orange and white, and the dilute calico, cream and and grey and white. Both are very pretty. Sometimes tortiose shell cats (black and yellow) are included with the calico group. My tortie, Pasht, is the best cat ever.

I just adopted one named Cali. She is a kitten and is three months old. We named her Cali. Half of her face is brown, the other side is black and she has a brown stripe down her face. Calico's are lovley and are very sweet. Take Cali for example she is sooo pretty. She is black with brown in her and white feet with those pretty almond eyes. And she stands up to the dog is what I like most about her :).

My mom has three calico's and they are all very loving. There are some what the rejects because alot of people find them ugly. I think with their blended color they are beautiful and friendly cats.

Genetically, there has to be a Siamese in the mix in order to get the calico mutation. Normally, the daddy was Siamese or Siamese mix. Calico kittens are never a twin, they are mono zygotic, but can have litter mates.
