Black panthers are actually leopards. In bright sunlight you can see the spots. If you are talking about in the wild, leopards mostly hunt at night. Its favorite food is small antelopes and such which it hauls up into trees before consumption. Leopards are opportunistic hunters and will eat any meat including their cubs if they have to. In captivity they are fed any available meat. When I volunteered at a big cat reserve, we fed the leopards and all the other big cats frozen blocks of chicken dipped in a mineral and vitamin powder. Once in awhile they were fed donated (deceased) rabbits, mules, horses and cows.
