What is a balanced kitten diet for a 2-month old cat2007-11-25 12:28:19

I just got a kitten and I want to make sure that he gets the best nutrition. However, we both share a loathing for wet(canned) cat food. I the smell, he the taste apparently. What sort of things and how often can I feed him so he gets all the nutrients he should be getting at his age?

A male cat should have 50% of his diet in wet food and the rest can be dry. The important issue is the quality of the meat that goes into the cat food.

All grocery store brands, Iams, Purina, Science Diet are very poor food made with by-product meat not considered fit for human consumption. That meat includes heads, feet, entrails, feathers from chickens, the most common protein source in pet food.

Try brands like Eagle Pack, Natural Balance, Solid Gold, Felidae, etc. You may pay 50 cents to a $l.00 more a bag for dry and it will pay off in better long-term health for the kitten. Their canned foods are the same high-quality.
