Its not a good idea to hide a pet from a parent - pets become members of your household too and do you want to risk getting attached to the animal to have it taken away? Discuss it openly and you have a chance to put your case forward..
Your parents need to reach some agreement about this. A kitten needs shots, testing, worming and stuff from a vet and this can be quite expensive. Family finances may not be able to cover that. Don't try to "hide" him from your father, that's not going to work, believe me.
It's wonderful if you can socialize him for a while and protect him. If the family can afford to take care of the kitten properly then you can probably find a home for him.
If you hide it in the house Dad will find out and probably break out the broiler pan. Your best bet is to take it to the humane society or some organization for lost and abounded animals.
Take him to be seen by your vet, so he can start his vaccines if he is old enough and also his worming. I would either ask your vets office if they can possibly adopt him out or if they know of a rescue group that will look to find him a home, most rescues here in my state will work with him so that he becomes more handleable and such. you are doing a good deed and much luck to you and your kitty.
