It can cause seizures in cats! The best thing you can do for your cat is get her to a vet immediately! Even if your cat seems fine, seizures can develop up to 48 hours later. If there is going to be a delay in getting your cat to the vet, I would bathe her immediately in dish soap, and then take her to the vet.

I would call your vet and ask them. I was told by my vet to use frontline for dogs on my cat, but to only use a small amount. I didn't use it because I have heard it can be harmful to cats. I would call the vet just to be sure.

Check the weight limit on the flea product. If it is meant for a larger pet, bathe the cat with soap and water to wash off the excess. There are permitherin products for cats,too, so the product in itself shouldn't be toxic. The Hartz product I have just says not for kittens under 12 weeks old.

A vet told a friend to only buy the large dog breed Advantage for all her animals. He said it's the same mixture, but it's just a bigger tube for the bigger animal. He gave her the proper dosage to use. And, you really need the proper dosage, too little won't help, too much can seriously affect them. I do't remember any of it though. I know it was a heck of a lot cheaper that way. I know this to be true, my vet gave me Advantage for cats under 8 lbs, for my ferrets, said to put a few drops on each. Pretty much told me the same.
