What to do about my pair of Persian cats They are all the time aggressive with each other
The female is more agressive then the male.
The male came to me as a adult a month back.
Female with me since she was a kitten.
PLease reply asap.
Answers:spay and neuter first off.
They are going to need to settle who is 'top cat' of the household. Hissing and an occasional slap is part of the process. full out attacks are not allowable and you'll have to intervene via water sprays, loud noise, etc.
Try to make sure they have equal time with you, the gal may need some extra lovings to be reassured she isn't being replaced in your affections.
My grey gal was very jealous and felt threatened by the new female kit we rescued. Never any out and out attacks but plenty of little swipes as the kit walked past her, some standing over the food bowl and tapping the kit over the head when she wanted to eat. It took just over a month, I made sure I paid attention to my grey and gave her a few extra treats at times when she was being good. Talk to them also,, sounds weird but it can't hurt to just talk alot to both, esp talk to the girl.
In odd cases the cats won't work out and you may have to find a new home for the male.
Ask the vet for advice. I also use an herbal remedy that goes in the water for calming.. it's called something like "Bach's Rescue Remedy"
get them fixed ASAP.
they should be spayed or neutered. spaying or neutering takes out more aggressiveness.
