I take one liquid gel capsul, puncture it and drain the oil into her canned food. It seems to be helping. Also, grooming your cat frequently helps, and be sure that their dry food is in an air tight container, as an open bag of food loses its nutrients.

if your cat has dry skin and has dandruff on his/her fur, giving him/her wet food once in a while can help get rid of the dandruff. i have a black cat and she had a dandruff problem i think my mother read somewhere that we should give her wet food and it really helped alot. however, you dont need to switch his/her diet completely to wet food, i give about a quarter of a can to my cat once a day when i get home from school.

I'd make sure that the food is of good quality and that it contains essential vitamins. If you bathe your kitty, perhaps using hypo-allergenic shampoo would be better. Whatever the cat's eating (again check the food) could contribute to the acidity level of his saliva and when he grooms himself it could be drying out his skin. Also maybe the humidity (or lack of) in your house could be causing it.
