What to do with my cat
Roomate moved out several years ago and left me with our cat.
Have been around this animal for 11 years now (its still in great health) and its cute and well-mannered, but I have always disliked having another animal dependent on me.
Friends households are clogged with multiple pets. Pls refrain from suggesting that I kill the little baby.
Answers:The cat is already a senior citizen. Don't turn it's world upside down.
Keep him. They are not very high maintenance, especially at his age. If he's healthy, all you need to do is feed it, give it fresh water & scoop out his litter tray just ONCE a day. Oh and if it hasn't got a name, naming it will help you grow attached. The fact that you came on here to ask for advice shows you clearly do care about it to some extent.
I bet the kitty sleeps for most of the day anyway. It likes it's space and I'm guessing so do you. So there's no problem there!
You'll also be grateful for a cuddle on a cold winter's night when you're alone on the couch & the cat decides to be affectionate.
It's 11yrs old. It hardly needs any toys or training. And you've lived with it for that long so you hardly need to work on bonding with it. Harsh to say, but the cat only has a few more years left in it, if even that. Don't stress it out & leave it all confused by rehoming it.
If you had a medical or financial excuse, I'd be giving you different advice but your sole reason for wanting the cat to disappear is because you don't want to take responsibility for it.
