What to do with my cat2007-11-25 12:28:56

Just try it. Fresh food & clean water once a day. Scoop the poop from the tray & give it a scratch behind the ears. You might learn to like it!

If after a trial period you're still convinced the cat has to go, then leave flyers at your local Vet, Pet Shops, Homes for the Elderly.it would be best for you to find an appropriate home & owner for it because of its age. The shelters find it easier to rehome younger cats & kittens so unless your cat got really lucky, I doubt it would get out of that shelter alive.

I hope you make the right decision.

aww, that animal is attached to you now! 11 years! keep him/her
You sound like you like this cat. Why do you want to get rid of it after you have cared for it for so long? Put ads up if you really want to get rid of it. At least keep it long enough to find it a good home.
11 years is a LONG time!! I say keep the cat, she's family.
If you can't keep it or don't want to keep it, find the nearest ASPCA (animal shelter). You can always try putting an ad in the newspaper to give it away, some people don't mind another pet. Good luck, cats are cool animals!
Give it some elderly person who is lonely and wanting a pet. Advertise as so. elderly cat wanting elderly person for companionship. will love you.etc. perfect for each other.
I'm sorry, but you have a responsibility to this animal. She has been with you for 11 years. You can't just turn around and give her away. Many shelters will kill the cat if no one claims her in a few days. Please, please, please do the right thing and keep the kitty.
Since you don't have anyone else to take the cat - take the animal to the animal shelter - please don't dump the animal on the side of the road!@
Keep the cat! It's eleven and it would be horrible to cause it such upheaval. If its healthy and friendly then it won't be dependant on you for much more than food- and that's not a huge ask. It'll be really attached to you now and would probably become unwell if you turned its world upside down. Also, if you give it away, you'll realise how attached you've become and'll regret it- cats are wonderful! Count yourself lucky to have one!
You've had him this long, what's the problem? He's probably only going to live a few more years anyway.
