What would you do if cats were kept at your workplace
I know someone who works where cats are kept as pets inside the office. Also, there are at least 10 other cats living under the building. The office business has nothing to do with animals. What do you think?
Answers:try tracking done a rescue group in your area! they will probably help you out! at the least getting them fixed to slow down the population! it denpens on where you live! i fostered for a group like that before i moved out of state! did it for 3 years! these people do wonderful things for these animals! hope you find one by you!:)
I think you should free them, and if caught, claim you're an animal rights activist.
Be sure to wear leather boots and a fur jacket while you're doing it.
if they are in the work place then I probably would NOT be working there, cant stand cats and whilst would NOT hurt one most certainly would not wish to share living space with them.
Can you not bring it up with some further up the chain of command, maybe IF you have outside customers coming onto the premises let hem know they have mentioned the 'cat' smell and these sound almost the feral type of cat semi tame and they DO smell badly.
that is a big issue everwhere. but i would look at it this way, someone has to be feeding them or they wouldn't be hanging out around their for long. and are they causing any problems around the work place? like outside noises, fighting, spraying on the building, trying to come inside all the time. You should see what the laws are in your area are regarding cats, if you contact your local animal control or county shelter they should be able to help you out, example where i live cats are considered a free roaming animal, and animal control officers will not respond to almost any call unless they animals life is in danger or you think it could have rabies, they also tell people if you feed them they consider it belonging to you. i would recommend that you find the person in your building that is feeding them, some one has to if their are inside ones!! and see if you can offer assistance, but it also depends on what kind of involvement you are trying to do! and are the outside ones feral? hopefully you have a feral rescue or a local shelter that might help with spay/neuter. at least this way they dont keep re-populating. sorry if i didn't really answer you question.. i work at a no-kill shelter where i live and it is always a big problem with stray cats, we take in approx. 300-350 cats a year and are always packed to the gills, with very little space. so again it depends on what your goal is. and exactly what are you trying to help with? feeding? getting them fixed, or are you trying to get someone to take them away?
Pet them, feed them & love them! Chances are they are easier to deal with than some co-workers!!
As for the cats in the office, if they're behaved and not causing any problems and you're not the one feeding, watering or changing the litter box, get over it.
