Whats better a male or female cat2007-11-25 12:29:04

I'm still trying to debate if I should get a male or female cat. Which do you think is better?

Answers:

I have had four male cats in my life, never at the same time, healthy and neutered and had to get rid each one of them, cause they were constantly marking their territory all of the time, I spent a ton of money replacing carpets. I have have three females and never had that problem with them. My kitten did at first, but once she was litter trained she stopped. Females are not as territorial as males, females do not mark their territory once fixed, males continue to mark even after fixed. Choose a female, you will definitely be happier in the long run. I know several people who have had marking problems due to male cats.

Good luck.

Male. Theyre more laid back and affectionate. Female cats are usualy more uptight and less social.
go to your local shelter and see who picks you out.
I am partial to neutered male cats. And I have three females and three males and love them all dearly. Two cats is always better than one anyway so why not get one of each sex?
I think female are. I heard they shed less and I heard that males pee on things. But if your cat is not spayed she will be preganant. But alot of cats are spayed
Assuming either would be fixed at the right age.I prefer males. I think they stay friendlier and more playful longer that the girls. But, it is entirely personal preference!!
I had a wonderful female feline for a companion for 16 years.
