Whats causing my kitty to itch2007-11-25 12:29:04

My indoor kitty has been scratching frequently, even though I'm sure she doesn't have fleas (I gave her a dose of Advantage a couple weeks ago, just in case). My other indoor cat does *not* have the same symptoms. My afflicted kitty had intestinal worms not long ago, for what that's worth. Also, I noticed a tiny caterpillar-like creature on linen close to where she was lying, although I don't know if that has anything to do with her condition. It was approx. 3mm long with sparse brown or red hairs sticking out from its body. I live in Florida. Any ideas on what it might be?

i would just have her checked out perhaps something may have bitten her or she may be having an allergic reaction to something

Maybe your kitty has worms i'm not sure call a local vet.

Maybe she has dermatitis or some other skin disorder.

fleas, tick, mites, or allergies. see the vet.

She could possibly have ringworm (in the worstcase senario) or she could just have dry skin. But the only way to find out for sure is to take her to vet.

It seems like something minor but to the itchy cat it's annoying her/him. You should take the cat to the vet. I shouldn't cost much.

She may have gotten bit by something, or she may have a skin irritation. Also a pour diet can cause her to shed, and shedding may make her itch.

Where is she itching? Primarily the head area?
