As long as the food has all the essential vitamins and stuff (they all do I guess) and your cat eats it and is keeping healthy then don't get sucked into brands.

Depends on what the cat likes and will eat. My friend had a cat who finally died at 24 after eating regular purina all his life and thriving on it. He died of a car, not old age; he escaped the house and ran into the street. My kits eat Purina indoor cat. They hate the 'premium' catfoods, and eat this well, and seem healthy at ages 9, 6 and 2.

Thats your problem, the grocery store is not where you will find healthy cat food.

The best cat food is SCIENCE DIET.

Your cat will very seldom need a vetinarian, not to mention, you rarely have a litter box that stinks.

Excellent for their digestive system.

A ten pound bag cost about 18.99 at Pesmart or Petco, or any Pet Supply store.

Science Diet is the most expensive of the grocery store foods and just as bad as the rest of them. Read the label on the bag you buy the first three ingredients should be: meat protein (not by-products), brown rice and more meat protein.

Regular Science Diet: 30% protein. $2.04 per lb. Chicken by-products (heads, feet, entrails, feathers from chickens), brewer's rice (that's rice with all the bran, the nutritious part, leached out), corn gluten meal. What's good about that? All the other grocery store foods are the same, Iams, Purina, 9 Lives, Meow Mix etc.
