Whats the best clumping or scoopable cat litter2007-11-25 12:29:07

I have tried Tidy Cats and one other brand (forget the name) but both are tiny sand particles and it sticks inbetween their toes and gets all over the house. the cheap clay litter doesnt do that but it gets nasty so fast and stinks. Is there one you've used that has bigger granules than Tidy Cat? They're so expensive I hate to keep buying different ones that are small sand particles.

Answers:

We faithfully use Cat's Pride,Which is scoopable and flushable. It is the fine sand too. It controls the odor of several cats. Don't buy multi-cat. It is not flushable! Not to say that multi-cat is bad, but we have had multiple cats and had no problems with other ( and you can flush it so why bother with the other). Try putting a rug by the litter box, they actually make a plastic mat to go next to litter boxes that is designed so that when they step on it, the litter falls from their now expanded paws. Cats dislike switching litters. Find one that contols the odor, stick with it, then try rugs or mats. This will make for a more tidy and happier cat.

scoop a way
I like Fresh Step Scoop the best although my cats tracked it all over too. I got one of those litter catcher mats which helped tremendously. They still track some but not nearly as much as they used to.
Well, Arm & Hammer makes scoopable cat litter (still gets everywhere). I also like Johnny Cat - the particles are larger and it's not as expensive.
I think all litter risks being tracked outside of the litterbox. I use Tidy Cats for my cat, and Arm & Hammer brand for the foster cat.
I use Scoopaway (it controls odor better than TC) but it does track. However, I bought one of those cheap rubber backed kitchen floor mats from Walmart (about $5) and put it down in front of the box. Problem solved and all I have to do is vacuum it when I vacuum the floor.
Out of everything I've tried, Scoop Away Multi Cat is hands down the best. Clumps tight, reduces odor. Great stuff!
I purchased at Walmart a flushable litter called Cat's Pride. It works wonderfully. It clumps really well, you are able to scoop it right into the toilet if your litter is in the bathroom, or you can toss it into the trash. It doesn't track and it smells nice. I have 4 cats, and I have 3 litter boxes. One inside and two on the Lanai. They all come in and run right for the one inside and each has their turn at the litter box, but it's very easy to clean up and the only time there is a mess is when they kick too much of it out.
scoop away. you may see it on t.v. and think no way that doesnt work, but it does. i was at my aunts house and was doing some chores and this stuff really works! i could clean the litter box in less than a minuet, and they had 5 cats! and none of it stuck to there paws it is awsome.
Feline Pine Scoopable is cheaper, because you use less, and some people find that it doesn't track as much as clay litter. The granules are much larger, and it is a healthy cat litter, which is always good. To some degree it depends on the cat, one litter doesn't work for everybody.
We really like the Arm and Hammer scoopable. It seems to control odor better for our seven house cats, and clumps very quickly. You can also use the Arm and Hammer Pet carpet sprinkles in your box, just a little bit each time you scoop, to control odor even more.
Cadarific works well + it is actual cedar (it also smells good) and cheap
Try Booda Clump no-track you have to go to a pet store to get it
