Whats the best way to get rid of a flea infestation2007-11-25 12:29:49

We have used the following and so far it has not worked; Bob Martin's Home Flea Spray, Silent Flea Spray for the cats and Spot On. I've had nearly 50 bites and we have an 8 week old baby boy.

Answers:

Spot on is the best for your cat. Bob Martin is absolutely rubbish for anything. Best advice would be to buy house sprays etc from the vets, although it's not cheap, it works.

my dog recently got them.

we took him to a grooming parlour to get all of the fleas off him.

while he was there - we did the house -

was all the covers - spray, Johnsons Flea Spray all round your house, (use 2 cans), spray round the edges of the house and anywhere your pet sleeps more than the other places.

get the frontline from your vet - the spot on their neck this will stop them coming back

You haven't mention front line there, its really good, they also have a spray for your home, but you need to get the baby out when you spray your home and then come back a hoover like crazy. I had the same problem. Wish you luck

go and buy some flea bombs and set them off you will have to leave your house for a little while but they work i have used them that is the only way i know of to get rid of them

shampoo every where the cat has been and quarninteen the cat to one room until irradicated

have you carpets steam cleaned that will remove most of them and when you hoover pay attention to underneath of the radiators and furniture

you gonna have to shampoo your carpet and if that dont work then replace it then wash all blankets pillows etc and shampoo your furniture Good luck oh yeah and flea drops too on the pets

Frontline or Advantage (from the vet) for your cats, and the vacuum cleaner for your carpets & any bedding that the cats have.

Your local council should be able to get someone in to spray your house.Try washing up liquid on your cats.I was advised to use it my kitten when he was too young to use flea treatments.
