Whats the best wet cat food 4 a kitten less than a year
I adopted an orange tabby kitten from the women's humane society. they say he's 4 months but i mean if he is he's big for his age, I don't mean fat at all, he jus looks bigger/older. anyways I've been told that wet food is best 4 cats. What's the best wet food nutritionally, for kittens and cats of a couple years or so? what stores will carry this food?
Answers:I am fond of IAMS brand cat foods. You can get it in just about any supermarket and it doesn't cost too much. It is available in both canned and dry foods. They have formulas for kittens, adults, and seniors. Stick with a kitten formula cat food for at least a year and a half. In the long run your cat will be better off with a primarily dry food diet that is only supplemented by canned food. The dry food keeps their poop more firm (a plus for you when you're scooping the litter box) and helps keep their teeth cleaner.
no, buy crunchy food, the soft all the time will give them diarrhea. give them soft once in a while as a treat
the wet food will give them the runs. you should pick a dry food for kittens. whatever brand you decide to use, stick with that brand. cats (aswell as dogs) can get upset over thier meals being changed. they aren't like humans that need variety. cats and dogs can "act out" if you switch brands, and switch food texture. GOOD LUCK,lissette
If the cat still seems to be young find some kitten chow if it is older (a vet should be able to tell you relatively how old it is) get regular cat food, it is best for them. If it's still young or hasn't had hard food yet start by wetting the food, just a little bit of water to soften it up then put less and less water over the course of 2-3 days. It will help the cat adjust to a different type of food. Wet food is more of a treat it does give them digestive problems resulting in the runs. Have fun with your new kitty. ^.^
the best type of cat food is dry cat food with an occasional treat of canned cat food. the best brand, is anything you can buy from your local vet. it is more expensive, but it is better for your cat than anything you buy at the store.
read the ingredients and find the one with the highest meat level and the lowest ash level. Sheba and Purina are both really good. A combination of wet and dry is best for the cat.. because the dry helps keep their teeth a little cleaner.
